New?
Posted on January 17, 2010
Ah new! It’s a new year, with new blessings, but where is my NEW work??!!
It’s coming. I am creeping out of vacation/maternity leave/holiday rut/laziness. I have a few sessions this week (pinup and family) that I am really looking forward to. There are a few ideas that I am playing around with but I need approval that I may not get (bummer, I will keep you updated).
As for pinup photography, I have one hair and makeup artist for the shoots if you need her. All my prices include her, so if you don’t want her skills, then please inquire for your pinup price.
On a personal note: I am loving life. My son keeps me entertained with his 5 year old conversations (which are actually a lot older than 5), and my daughter is about to be a month this week. WOW! It’s been a blessing to have my husband stateside and even my dog has been awesome. Life is good.

Stacy Martinez Photography is proud to announce a new style to the collection – PIN UP Photography. My PIN UPs are themed based, for example, Vintage Beach [which debuted October 17th], Military [upcoming this month], Pregnancy [upcoming this month], et cetera. We are keeping to the roots of PIN UP with the 1910′s-1950′s style. My PIN UPs are not the Boudoir Photography style. By that I mean, I will do boudoir but with the PIN UP flare (the hair, makeup and costumes). Boudoir Photography to me creates images you see in fashion magazines, lingerie ads, or upscale men’s magazines. Those are for your & your partner’s eyes only. My PIN UPs are for you to be able to show friends and family (if you want to of course) because they aren’t too revealing and are sexy, posh & beautiful. Please read below for more on PIN UPs from Wikepedia and some of the famous PIN UP ladies from the 1910′s-1950′s. If you are interested, please contact us or view out PIN UP link above.
“A pin-up girl or pin-up model is a model whose mass-produced pictures see wide appeal as pop culture. Pin-ups are intended for informal display. Pin-up girls are glamour models, fashion models, and actresses.
Pin-up may also refer to drawings, paintings and other illustrations done in emulation of these photos (see the List of pinup artists). The term was first attested to in English in 1941; however the practice is documented back at least to the 1890s.
The pin up images could be cut out of magazines or newspapers, or be from postcard or chromo-lithographs, and so on. Such photos often appear on calendars, which are meant to be pinned up anyway. Later, posters of pin-up girls were mass-produced. They became an instant hit.
Many pin ups were photographs of celebrities who were considered sex symbols. One of the most popular early pin-up girls was Betty Grable. Her poster was ubiquitous in the lockers of G.I.s during World War II. Other pin-ups were artwork, often depicting idealized versions of what some thought a particularly beautiful or attractive woman should look like. An early example of the latter type was the Gibson girl, drawn by Charles Dana Gibson. The genre also gave rise to several well-known artists specializing in the field, including Alberto Vargas and George Petty, and numerous lesser artists such as Art Frahm.” Wikipedia

Belly…Belly…Belly…
Posted on November 5, 2009

On Tuesday, I had some maternity photos taken of me. The day turned out to be gorgeous and the baby bump was cooperating. She tends to like things her way and will stick a foot or her head out to throw the belly “off”. She is full of attitude and spunk (Lord help me please). Thank you to Stephanie from Inspired Design Photography for these. It was a lot of fun and being in stiletto’s always makes me happy. 8 months pregnant.
